| Special education is an important part of the education system in our country.Thedevelopment of special education,become an important symbol to measure the level of socialcivilization and progress.The key to the development of special education is the developmentof special teachers.The education idea of special needs brings new hope to the development ofspecial education in China.With rapidly increasing number of special children,appearing moreand more special education schools. According to the special needs of children,exploring thespecial needs of special school teachers’ professional development and improving the level ofteachers’ professional development in special school are our common research subjects.This research took a special education school of B city in Gansu province forexample.This school carried out a series of school-based education for teachers to promoteprofessional development of teachers.All these practices meet the requirements of the deafschool curriculum reform.At the same of time,the teachers also have a strong sense ofprofessional development.However,there are some problems about professional level andprofessional attitude.I collected original data by field method,conducting in-depth interviewswith the teachers, questionnaire survey and participating in school activities.Combined with related theory,firstly I analyzed the special needs of the children in thisshool.For example,living and life needs,growth and development needs,education teachingneeds and special teachers needs.Then I also presented the situation of teachers’ professionaldevelopment by analyzing their professional beliefs,professional knowledge,professionalability,professional self development and professional expectations.So I summarized theproblems existing in the teachers’ professional development.For instance,teachers hadpowerful professional belief,but had no a proper understanding.On the whole,teachers werelack of special professional knowledge and the levels of their knowledge acquisition weredifferent.Professional ability development was insufficient and they were lack of knowledgeand ability about vocation education,medical science and self reflection.Teacher’s professionaldevelopment consciousness was not enough and mainly depend on their own learning.Teacher’s trainings were inefficient and lack of pertinency.Most importantly,multiple pressuremade special-education teachers exhausted and they were lack of social concern,so they feltalone and blue.Finally,according to the special needs of students and teachers’ professionaldevelopment,I put forward some strategies about teachers’ professional development ofspecial education school.The strategies are professional support strategy,management supportstrategies,psychological support strategies and social support strategy. |
