The development of competitive sports experience shows that coaches have importantstrategic significance in promoting the sustainable development of competitive sports. Theability of Track and Field Coaches has a great affect in the successful development of Chinesetrack and field. We must investigate the lack of development of China’s athletics coachesability and its development and make sure that its future development is towards the intendeddirection. The prerequisite of this is building a index evaluation system. Therefore, to buildthe capacity of China’s grassroots athletics coaches’ evaluation system is to promote thegrassroots coaches’ specialization development objective requirement and an importantmeasure. After using literature data, interview, questionnaire survey method, analytichierarchy process, and applying these methodologies to our grassroots athletics coachesability evaluation system, the results we have discovered are:1. the ability evaluation system of the grass-roots track and field coaches consists of thefactors of evaluation index, index weight and evaluation standard.2. the ability evaluation system of the grass-roots track and field coaches is measures6aspects and31elements of coaching ability, including teaching and training ability, innovationability, organization and management ability, scientific research ability, competition ability andcooperative communication ability. In the coaches’ ability system, the following six abilities aremeasured: teaching and training ability, competition ability, innovation ability, scientificresearch ability, organization and management ability, cooperative communication ability.3. Among31elements, the ability of grassroots coaches of track and field have thestrongest impact on the six aspects, coordinate interpersonal ability, treat the athlete indifferent ways, discovering and probiem-soiving ability, the innovative design of the traningmethod, the ability to inspire athlete’s competitiveness and make the program before thecompetition.4. Developing evaluation criteria and rating scale of China’s grassroots track and fieldcoaches ability and establishing a comprehensive evaluation of the ability of China’sgrassroots athletics coaches model. After studying the cases of individual grassroots athleticscoaches, we will verify the ability of the evaluation system and consolidate the effectivenessof the algorithm.5. As this subject is only exploratory research, many defects and challenges remain. We recommended that future researchers use a large sample size of the study, in order tocompensate for the limitations of the small sample size of the current study.
