Minority university graduates employ successfully, not only relates to thedevelopment of minority basic education and higher education, relates to theprosperity and progress of ethnic minorities and ethnic minority areas. At the sametime, the social phenomenon, minority university students’ employing is difficult, iseasily exploited by the foreign forces of ethnic separatism and Western anti-Chinaforces to befog the minds of our people, destroy the national unity of our country.Comrade Hu Jintao clearly pointed out that "employment is the people’s livelihood" atthe eighteenth Party Congress. So, the problems on employment of minorityuniversity students is very important. Solving it means to improve the livelihood ofthe people of ethnic minorities and ethnic minority areas, and is conducive tosafeguarding national unity, social stability, national unity.According to the survey, in recent years, our minority university graduatesemployed rate showed a downward trend. They difficult to employ, cost high tohunter job, waste much time waiting for offers, engaged in the work not about theirown major, and their average income is little. The eighteenth Party Congress alsopointed out:"to promote employability and entrepreneurship". So, to improve theemployability of minority university students is the key to promote minorityuniversity graduates to achieve a higher employment rate and better quality ofemployment, but also to lay the foundation for the minority university students toadapt to the society and their work progress better.Eexperts and organizations of home and abroad whoes researchers discussingemployability got different definition of employability. This study suggests that theprofessional ability, practical ability, thinking ability, sense of self development ability,adaptability and applicants forms employability. We think it is suitable for the practiceof our country’s university students. Minority university students employability notonly influenced by a series of internal and external factors, as other students, but alsoby some special factors of themselves. These factors include: the special national history, cultural background and realistic life, religious beliefs and traditional ideas,backward basic education in minority areas, the influence of family economy poverty,educational quality and social reputation of universities for nationalities anduniversities in minority areas, the hometown talent needs less and discriminationfrom employing units which away from their home.This study conducted an investigation of some minority graduates of Electronicsand Information Engineering Department of South-Central University forNationalities. Learned through the investigation, the overall level of minority students’employability is worried. Only two dimensions of the ability to reach or slightlyhigher than the general level, the other four dimensions are lower than the generallevel. In view of the reality of our minority university students, this research from thegovernment, universities, employers and the minority university students four aspectsputs forward some countermeasures and suggestions. The government proposed tofurther increase support for the economic development of ethnic areas, take specialmeasures to ensure the development of basic education in minority areas, enhance themacro guidance in universities, provide more funds for the training of minoritystudents, give preferential policies to encourage employers to use minority universitygraduates. Universities should adjust training goal and training plan. Try their best toimprove the students’ employability. The universities that locates in minority area andthe universities for nationalities should make efforts to improve the social reputation.As minority university students, they should activly improve their moral ideologicaland political quality, cultivate their basic ability, improve the comprehensive qualityand make personal occupation career planning. The employers also haveresponsibility for the cultivating of minority university students employability. Theemployers playing roles of guid. They should provide support and assistance andcooperat with universities for the cultivation of employability of minority universitystudents. And pay more attention to the training of minority employees in humanresource management.
