Objective: To study the current employment situation in Xinjiang medical universities, identify the main issues that affecting their employment, in-depth analysis of the causes and identify the knot disease, proposed to promote the employment of university students in medical area, Provide active and useful references for the government at various levels, medical institutions, educational reform, in order to effectively promote employment situation of graduated students in the medical area and comprehensively improve the quality of employment and health care level of Xinjiang province, bring out the better quality of health care services for the all nationalities in Xinjiang. Methods: Questionnaire survey analysis, in-depth interviews, literature review of methods for the collection in basic conditions of employment in medical college graduates, employment intentions, job preparation, employment psychological, employer satisfaction evaluation and recruitment needs for medical graduates. Results: 1) Employment situation:In 2012, the number of undergraduate graduation were 1369 people, among them 1218 people had found jobs, the employment rate of 88.97%; In2013, graduates number increased to1525 people and 1322 employments, the employment rate dropped to 86.69%; In 2014, 1191 people had graduated and 1044 employments, the employment rate rose to 87.44%. 2) Employment intention: Graduates choose to stay in Urumqi accounted for 46.4%, Around the state and Urban centers accounted for 29.8%, Employment of grass-roots medical institutions accounted for 10.4%; Choose careers in large hospitals accounted for 65.8%, Health and Medical Institutions accounted for 16.4% and grass-roots employment of undergraduates accounted for 5.8%. 3) Job preparation: 26.4% of college students’ choice of employment before one year of graduation; 71% of graduates choose jobs that year. 4) Employment channels: 29.6% of the graduates choose to participate in campus recruitment; 9% of the graduates choose both online resume and campus recruiting; 6.2% of graduates choose to personal family background associated; 5.4% of graduates choose to participate the talent market recruitment; The choice of self-employed accounted for 1.4%. 5) Employment psychology: Based on total statistics from graduates’ employment psychological questionnaire, 33.8% of surveyed students believed that there is moderate pressure in relative stability occupation; 40.2% of the graduates surveyed exist moderate pressure on their professional knowledge and skills; 38.8% of the graduates surveyed had moderate pressure in low employment rate of their major; 35.6 of the surveyed had mild pressure about the rising trend of graduates number following by outstanding rate of university enrollment;36.4% of graduates surveyed had moderate pressure for the employment situation of oversupply and fierce competition in the entire community; 40.2% of graduates surveyed had moderate stress of less salary. 6) Employer evaluation: Emphasis on professional theory accounted for 50.5%; Focus on computer operations accounted for 52.5%; Insistence on utilizing information ability accounted for 54.5%; Innovation ability reached 46.5%; Emphasis on foreign language level accounted for 45.5%; Clinical skills accounted for 44.4%. 7) Employer recruitment needs: Pay more attention to the professional construction accounted for 60.6%; academic record accounted for 57.6%; Physical Construction and Personal Image accounted for 51.5%; Interview Performance accounted for 50.5%; List of Awards accounted for 46.5%. Conclusion: Overall, Xinjiang has a steady economic development, has created a good atmosphere and opportunities for employment of university students, students’ employment in medical area has maintained good growth momentum. The current employment situation that admits of no optimism affected by domestic and international economic environment, Especially in recent years with the increase in the number of graduates in medical universities, make the economic growth rate lagged behind the employment growth rate, The undergraduate are facing great pressure from the employment, because of the ethnic distribution diversity and differences of economic development in Xinjiang, the careers purpose, utilitarian of graduates are more prominent, combined with various restrictions especially for university graduates in medical institutions, increasing great difficulties of employment, therefore, the employment work have a huge responsibility to assume and a long way to go. In this regard, governments at all levels should play the main role, strengthen the functions and mission consciousness, strengthen organization and leadership, taking all things into consideration; medical colleges and community sessions should take the students’ employment problems into the overall work, make a comprehensive plan and arrangements for the promotion. It must be practical and take a variety of measures and carrying out an effective implementation. To further strengthen the incentives to encourage minority students go down to the grass roots, work hardly in difficult areas, better actualize their own personal worth; establish a correct concept of career and talent view, and continuously improve college students’ comprehensive quality, in order to adapt to the new environment, new tests and new challenges. The only way to make a better promotion of employment is emphasize the leadership and management, put our hands together and club ideas and exertions.
