Since1999, independent colleges have become an integral part of Chinese highereducation massification after14years development. Developing and thrivingindependent colleges play an important role in balancing the demand for highereducation, as well as expanding the social benefits. Independent colleges are faced withthe challenges of surviving in2013. Faculties are the most important force forindependent colleges to get foothold and develop steadily in the higher education market.However, because of financial, personal and social factors, teacher’s loyalty to theircareer and colleges is on the decline in independent colleges. How to promote teacher’sloyalty, strengthen the teacher’s sense of cohesion, inspire teacher’s initiatives andcreativity and form an enthusiastic, effective and highly qualified team of teachers are themost urgent issues to be studied and solved. Thus, endangered independent collegesshould take measures from the following aspects: recruiting system, organizationalculture, welfare benefits and teacher’s self-development.This paper takes BD as the research objective to study the teacher’s loyalty of BDCollege in depth from the dimensions of external environment, overall situation, careerdevelopment, human resources and welfare system, interpersonal relationship, leadership,individual’s sense of belongings and value. The questionnaire is designed on the basis ofPorter’s Organizational Commitment Questionnaire in accordance with the actualsituation of BD. There are205copies handed out with in-depth interviews; throughanalysis of the obtained statistics, they uncover the problems of teacher’s loyalty of BD.Aided by SWOT analytical approach, this paper deeply analyze the current situation ofBD, as well as the factors and reasons of teacher’s loyalty of BD strategically accordingto the result of the questionnaire. It also offers some proposals on the promotion ofteacher’s loyalty of BD College and hoping it could provide some useful suggestions forthe construction and development of teacher’s team in BD College and other similarindependent colleges.
