The career plateau has some bad influence on individuals and organization, especially under the era of knowledge-based economy nowadays, knowledge organization, as a basic unit, which offers creative movement for our social development, is crucial for the development of a country and a society, and at the same time, it also provides a steady flow of power for enterprises. The institution of higher education is a symbol of knowledge organization in our country, in which university teachers account for the main part. The stagnation of career development affects heavily the capacity of scientific research, and also the lack of creative research can impact the general creativity of our country, resulting in feeble in later development. Hence, it is necessary for us to take research on the career plateau and the creativity.This article is intended for university teachers, considering the influence factors under the environment of knowledge organization, to explore teachers’ career plateau and its effect on innovative behavior. The paper, adopting theory and demonstration method, studies university teachers from nine institutions of higher education in Shaanxi province based on questionnaire. In term of the relevant data collected above, we will use SPSS18.0and the structural equation model18.7to analysis and work out, exploring the career structural latitude of university teachers and analyzing the influence of perceived organizational support, leadership authorization, working pressure, working challenge on career plateau and its inner functional mechanism. It also introduces locus of control, an individual inner perceptual factor, and adopts the method of polynomial reconciling regression to test its intermediation function for this relationship. Then we will build the structural equation model to explore and discuss the influence path of career plateau on innovative behavior. During which, we conclude as follows:(1) In terms of our country, the latitude of career plateau of university teachers can be divided into3parts:content plateau, title plateau, duty plateau. The content plateau reflects the stagnate of professional knowledge during teaching, showing that the existing teaching jobs don’t supply them with the movement of going on adding knowledge; title plateau reflects the great obstacles in promoting titles, reaching a bottleneck situation; the duty plateau reflects the lack of power and expectation in duty, in other words, university teachers aren’t endowed with more duties and expecting aims.(2)In terms of the institutions of higher education, organizational support, leadership authorization, working challenge and other factors, all have a positive influence in stopping and remitting career plateau. And the career plateau and the working pressure show positive correlation. In the process, teacher’s locus of control takes effect in different direction and extent.(3)The relevance between career plateau and teacher’s level of education as well as rankings of colleges respectively reaches dramatic level in the test. In other words, the higher the qualifications of university teachers are, the more possible teachers get career plateau; the lower the rankings of colleges in which teachers work are, the more possible teachers get career plateau.(4)In terms of college organizations, leadership authorization, working challenge, and organizational support play a positive role in promoting or provoking teachers’ innovative behavior, while working pressure and innovative behavior show remarkably negative correlation.
