| The career plateau of P. E teacher in high schools is a very important phenomenon in the process of career development. It is the results of the indirect and direct experience which gradually are depositing. When the career plateau appears, it must have deeply effect on the career development. The P,E teachers on the condition of career plateau may consider no matter what effort he or she makes greatly, it is hard for she or he to make good progress in improving the education skills. Because of that, the teachers are satisfied with the status now. The career life is not a new picture foe them but a boring work. If this condition continues for along time, the teachers anxious to resigning. So it is a significant research to discuss the present condition of career plateau, reveal its integrated characteristics and advance the further development of P. E teacher in career.At the basis of the numerous literature, by the By the questionnaire method, literature data method, expert discussion method, and logic analytical method, the paper shows the structural characteristics according to the gender, teaching years, education background, school style, age and so on. The conclusions are:1,The questionnaire of P. E teacher' career plateau in the high school is in moderate level, teachers got the lowest scores in content plateau while highest in centralized plareau;2,P.E teachers' career plareau changes with the increase of their working time and ages, there is significant difference in the whole plateau and hierarchical plateau.3,In the whole plateau,content plateau and hierarchical plateau, there is a deeply difference between different teaching ages;4,There is no significant difference between gender and school style;5,In the whole plateau,central plateau and hierarchical plateau, the difference of P. E teacher having different education background is marked;6,In the whole plateau,central plateau and hierarchical plateau, different post have difference.
