For the word " consciousness of history ", regardless of history educators, or ordinary people, are relatively unfamiliar. In fact, this is not a new word, may be due to the domestic research on the academic works and papers relative to foreign speaking are less, and people may have different understanding and awareness of the academia for this word, are not unified. So, less research and related problems have been done on the " consciousness of history ", the concern is not enough.However, at the turn of the century, ministry of education carried on the curriculum reform, the history curriculum standards for training students" consciousness of history" requires more or less the connected requirements, the new revision of the history curriculum standard in2011,clearly put forward the cultivation of students " consciousness of history ". The author believes that, with the deepening of educational reform and development,"the cultivation of history consciousness ", gradually will be concerned by all walks of life and study, especially concerned by the history educators.This paper tries to be from a new perspective, takes advantage of high school history textbook as an important carrier, digs in-depth unique features and functions of history textbook contents of each part, as well as the important function of developing students’ consciousness of history, and expounds the contents of each part of history textbook should be how to cultivate students’historical consciousness, to achieve what ability. Finally, carries on the analysis to the practical problems in teaching, puts forward some corresponding suggestions.
