At present, the new curriculum reform is completely on its way in most places, and the "efficiency of teaching" has become an eternal pursuit of it. The first and foremost goal is definitely to improve the teaching efficiency, so is geography. As a basic course, it also deserves great concern towards it. For this reason, I explored how to improve the effectiveness in geography teaching by putting teachers’teaching as the breakthrough points, meanwhile guided by the new curriculum concept. In this process, I adopt the means of literature analysis, theory exploration and cases analysis and also refer to some effective achievements from home and abroad, combining my years of teaching experience together to discuss and explore some effective strategies in senior geography teaching.My thesis consists of four chaptersChapter one is the general introduction to this thesis including its research background, significance of the research, questions from home and abroad, and list the necessity of this study and also try to establish some approaches to this study.Chapter two is the analysis of the efficiency of senior geography teaching, based on the new curriculum, theory of brain science, constructivist learning theory, the theory of multi-intelligence and the theory of zone of proximal development, and eventually present the concept and feature of efficient teaching, meanwhile combine the theory and real teaching together to further discuss some effective teaching theory.Chapter three is to learn about the present situation and problems in senior geography teaching by doing a questionnaire and analyze the reasons accordingly.Chapter four mainly explored how to apply some effective teaching strategies to real geography teaching by using some proper theories as well as my own teaching experience, presenting practical examples in the whole process of teaching to explore the most effective and practical strategies.Finally, the thesis presents the shortcomings and some further discussions of this study.
