Lenin said:"The power of example is infinite." Since the founding of new China, our country relies on the example education and cultivates batch after batch of outstanding talents, which has contributed indelibly to the modernization of our socialist country. School is the main position of example education, which is an important part of the moral education, and which is an important means that corrects the students’ view of the world and life. Thus the example education itself has a great theoretical significance. However, in recent years, the effect of traditional example education is weakening; examples lose some effect; the current example education seems to go into a bottleneck, meeting the high-input-low-output problem, which becomes more and more prominent. In such an environment, Zhongshan’s example education can not be an exception; it also faces a lot of problems. Therefore, I take the Beiqu Middle School in Zhongshan City (Guangdong Prov.) as an example, to analyze the situation and problems of example education in middle school, and investigate the causes of these problems, in order to find out effective strategies and solutions for them.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part mainly introduces the research background, research purpose and research significance, the main concepts, research review, research ideas and research methods. The second part analyzes the situation and problems of example education in the Beiqu Middle School in Zhongshan City by questionnaire surveys and interviews. The third part analyzes the causes of the problems in the Beiqu Middle School. The fourth part is the improving strategy of the example education in the Beiqu Middle School, which is the focus of this research:establishing the "four in one" example education platform; optimizing the Education environment; and exerting the students’ subjective initiative. By establishing the "four in one" education platform—"student-dominant, school-oriented, home education-based, social education-supported", we can integrate various forces and optimize the example education environment for the junior middle school students. Educators should respect the dominant role of the middle school students in the example education and exert the students’subjective initiative. The students can choose and set the adjacent examples independently, and can even set idols as examples. Hereby, the educators can guide the students with the "four lens" to improve the example education, helping the students learn it by heart and practice everyday. The "four lens" means:microscope for finding the light source, magnifier for magnifying the shining point, telescope for looking into the future, plane mirror for bettering the current situation. The Educators should renovate the educational idea in time. Using the students’ admiration for the examples and their conscious of self-improvement, enhancing their affective commitment and enthusiasm to learn from the examples with motivators, turning the students from "(You) want me to learn" to "I want to learn","I like to learn","I am good at learning". Let the students realize that the best example is himself/herself. By comparing the examples, the students will improve themselves unceasingly in self-management, self-education, and self-development; they will go beyond themselves. The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the innovation and the deficiency of this paper, and points out the direction of future research.The most important feature of this paper is to correlate the theory with practice. In June2012, Beiqu Middle School set up the example education survey-team to carry out the questionnaire surveys and interviews, in order to find out the problems of example education in our school, and analyze thoroughly the causes of the ineffectiveness of model education. I draw lessons from the example education theory and experience of previous scholars, combine with the situation of our school and students, practice the example education, and find out a road of example education which has the feature of our school.
