Local geography teaching is an important part of secondary school geography teaching. Themain purpose of the paper is through practice, to explore the effective way of Guangzhou secondaryschool local geography comprehensive teaching.On the basis of the predecessors, by summing the discovery of the local geography researchprogress in recent years, combined with the result of36secondary school survey in Guangzhou, aswell as the results of using Excel, SPSS software for the statistical analysis of survey data onteachers and students questionnaire, with Situated cognition theory> Constructivist theory、SocialInteraction Theory and related theory as the instruction, for teaching method experiment and casestudies.Argument although the native geography teaching in Guangzhou development prospects are birght,but at this stage secondary schools local geography course in teaching methods highlight theone-sidedness, over-reliance on classroom teaching, neglect of practice teaching, perfunctory to carryout the local geography research study and practice activities. The one-sidedness teaching waymakes the student of local geography courses recognition is not high, which is not conducive to theimprovement of teachers’ scientific research ability, and difficult to realize the significance of theteaching of the local geography, so it is necessary to reform the local geography sidedness teachingmethods, play the significance of the local geography teaching.Through research, found that comprehensive teaching methods is the direction of the localgeography teaching reform, combining theory with practice is the core of the comprehensiveteaching methods. Surrounding the core, reference to the relevant pedagogy theory, design teachingexperiment, practice inquiry drawn classroom skills teaching methods、emotional-rational cognitionteaching methods、local geography interactive teaching methods, the three teaching methods allbelong to the comprehensive teaching methods areas, practice validation is feasible. The three typesof teaching methods focus different,the teacher may choose different teaching methods according toactual situation-The three teaching methods focus on the combination of theory and practice,emphasis in practice to dev’elop students comprehensive practical ability; And for the teachers’teaching and scientific research ability put forward higher request, teachers in the process of practice,through continuous exploration of practice to improve scientific research ability, promote thedevelopment of their professional quality.
