This paper takes method which combines the quantitative and qualitative analysi-s to research the practical and theoretical basis of prime and middle school teachers’proactive behavior at work. In the ifrst place, to compile the self-made questionnairePrimary and Middle School Teachers’ Proactive Behavior Questionnaire, literaturereview, interview and questionnaire were used to investigate thousands of primary andmiddle school teachers from Huang shan,San ming, Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Guangzhouand other places. Afterwards, qualitative research was applied in this paper to conductthe depth interview with primary and middle school teachers about the factors whichare supposed to affect their proactive behavior at work. In the end, based on theresults of the inter’view, the relationship between participants proactive behavior atwork, psychological empowerment, proactive personality, career plateau werediscussed. The report concludes as follows.1.The evaluation about primary and middle school teachers’ proactive behaviorat work in our country should be consisted of ifve dimensions: Teaching control,Active communication, Innovative behavior, Voice behavior and Career management.2.The self-made questionnaire Primary and Middle School Teachers’ ProactiveBehavior Questionnaire is well-organized and shows good reliability and validityindicators, which means it can be used in the study of psychology measurements.3.The factors which affect primary and middle school teachers’ proactivebehavior at work mainly come from three ifelds: environment support? consisting ofsocial environment support, school environment support and family support;personality and character, consisting of proactive personality and execution;work-related cognition, consisting of working eiffcacy, experience feedback onprevious proactive behavior at work,work inlfuence and job autonomy.4.The analysis pointed to a statistically signiifcant relationship between everydimension of primary and middle school teachers’ proactive behavior at work on demographic variables.5.Proactive personality and psychological empowerment can both positivepredict teachers’ proactive behavior at work, primary and middle school teachers’psychological empowerment acts as a mediator between proactive personality andteachers’ proactive behavior at work.6.All dimensions of primary and middle school teachers’ proactive behavior atwork could negatively forecast their career plateau.
