The teachers’ engagement system has been implemented in Heyuan area since2010. This paper, taking teachers in municipal schools in Heyuan as an example, investigates the condition of teachers’ rights and interests as well as remedies for rights and interests after the teachers’ engagement reform. It reveals the problems of remedying teachers’rights and interests in the practice and puts forward remedies for the teacher’s rights and interests so as to protect their legal rights and interests and ensure the correct implementation of the teachers’engagement system. The main research methods used in this paper are as follows:documentation, questionnaire, interview, analysis of legal theory and comparative method.This paper has five parts. The first part is preface. The second part mainly introduces the implementation of the teachers’engagement system and analyses the present situation of teachers’ rights and interests in Heyuan. The third part focuses on the investigation into the current remedies for teachers’ rights and interests, which involves three aspects:teachers’understanding on the teachers’ engagement system, teachers’ rights and interests, the remedy system for teachers’ rights and interests. The results from investigation are also analyzed. The fourth part analyses the existed problems of remedying teachers’ rights and interests in present system which includes the teachers’ legal identity, the relationship between teachers and the school, the contract of employment, the internal and external dilemmas faced by remedies for rights and interests. The fifth part proposes the strategies to strengthen the remedies for teachers’ rights and interests under teachers’engagement reform. For one thing, the internal management mechanism of the school should be standardized; for another thing, the internal and external remedy system for rights and interests should be built. The sixth part is on establishing and improving the system of the accountability.
