With the development of social change rapidly, the continuous progress of science and technology,people’s material life has generally improved. Children are the flowers of the motherland, the future of themotherland. Developing countries and families pay more and more attention to children’s intellectual, aestheticand practical capability. The manual is an important part of art basic course. The manual contains origami,paper-cut, collage, clay, cloth and so on. Children’s characteristic of the age is love, curiosity, imagination, sothe manual is very suitable for children to learn. Manual course is mainly on the life of materials to explore,develop children’s consciousness of material. It is helpful to develop children’s observation, imagination,hands-on ability, aesthetic ability, improve the psychological quality etc.. Because of China’s land area and thegap between rich and poor is very big, so the basic art education development is not balanced. In view of thissituation, teachers should suit one’s measures to local conditions, combined with regional characteristics andthe corresponding set of manual course. Teachers should also encourage students to find material from thedaily life, the creation of beauty. In the process of teaching to the students as the main body, to thedevelopment of students as the fundamental goal, and strive to create a good learning environment for students.In the manual teaching, cultivating students’ consciousness of material can not only enrich thestudents’ lives, but also to the development of the society can also play a positive role.
