The problems of university students can affect the stability of economic growth and the harmony of society structure. Along with the development of our society, a variety of new controversies and problems arise. University students are the future and hope of our society, and their psychological health determines our nation’s development and prosperity. Therefore, it is our priority as university educators to guide university students to rationally face different pressures, to promote both physical and psychological health among them, and to construct a harmonious environment for the society.Under such kind of background, this thesis relates to the practice of my own experience as a university educator, and applies a theoretical framework of education and psychology, and has carried out a research on the formulation of students’ anti-pressure ability. This thesis analyses the psychological pressures among university students from the perspective of a university counselor. It employs a combination of literature review, questionnaires, and case study as research methods. It explores on the source of university students’ pressures and methods of formulating students’ anti-pressure abilities. The thesis is composed of five parts. The first part contains the introduction, the topic, the background and the literature review. The second part analyses the source of university students’ pressures and how to help students face those psychological pressures, and the relations among those factors from a multi-angled and multi-disciplined point of view. Therefore, it provides theoretical evidence for research on students’ pressures. The third part analyses some usual problems and mistakes when university counselors are guiding students to overcome pressures. The fourth part discusses different ways of overcoming pressures and their respective effects. The fifth part, discusses the basic principles and strategies for university counselors when guiding students to overcome pressures, and case analysis is also included in this part.
