The career of college teacher bears fairly high social expectation and undertakes the important mission of educating professional talented people for our nation. With the development of society, especially after the increase enrollment of colleges, the proportion of new and young college teachers becomes bigger and bigger, while these new and young college teachers are the reserves of higher education, and their quality directly influences the quality of the education of talented people.The social economics and culture of Xinjiang, which is a multinational region, is rather backward than the middle and east parts of our country. What is the feature of career pressure of new and young college teachers here? This thesis analyzed the general performance and the application of coping strategy towards pressure of new and young college teachers in Xinjiang by investigation, and probed the main source of pressure which influences the new and young college teachers by comparing the sources of pressure and coping strategy between different genders and ethnic groups. Results show that in gender, the overall pressure has no significant difference, while in ethnic groups, the overall pressure has significant difference, and the pressure of ethnic teachers is significantly higher than Han teachers. As for the analysis of pressure sources which influence the new and young college teachers, the factors of"research"and"personal development and promotion"are the main factors influenced new and young college teachers in Xinjiang. Based on the results above, this thesis proposed the corresponding countermeasures to guide new and young college teachers to confront the work pressure positively.There are three parts in this thesis:The research background and theoretical foundation are introduced in the first part, and on the basis of these, the significance of the pressure of new and young college teachers is elaborated. And the insufficiency of previous studies and periscope of the present thesis are put forward.In the second part discusses and analyzes the questionnaire involved in this thesis, and discusses the main factors, items and coping ways of influencing the pressure resources of new and young college teachers. Meanwhile, it compares the pressure resources and coping ways between different genders and ethnic groups. The analysis of the factors lays foundations for proposing reasonable suggestions.The third part puts forward the constructive suggestions for the management of pressure of new and young college teachers in Xinjiang from the perspectives of new and young teachers and organization. In organization, it is necessary to conduct the entry education, encourage and guide the career development of new and young college teachers. In personal perspective, it is important to change cognition, establish correct concept of life and value, take the positive coping strategy towards pressure, improve personal professional attainment, perfect personality, set up the attitude of learning throughout the life etc.
