Emotional education is closely related with cognitive education, which is an important part of the complete education process and the unity of the teaching methods and teaching goals. Be different from cognitive education, emotional education focuses on student’s emotion, feeling, attitude and belief, which aims at shaping student’s complete personality and promoting student’s comprehensive and harmonious development. With the advancement of new curriculum reform, the concept of emotional education is going into the human mind deeply. More and more teachers are beginning to attach importance to the concept and apply the concept in the teaching practice in order to give full play to the positive significance of emotional education. Based on the phenomenon that the lack of emotional education in junior middle school ideological and moral teaching practice, this paper deeply analyze the necessity and importance of emotional education from four aspects:emotional education is the inherent requirement of junior middle school moral lesson; emotional education is an urgent affair for junior middle school ideological and moral teaching practice; emotional education is an essential requirement of comprehensively promoting quality education; emotional education is favorable guarantee of building harmonious interpersonal relationship. Based on the new curriculum standard of junior middle school moral lesson and the content topics of emotional education, following the junior school student’s physiological and psychological characteristics and the regularity of ideological and moral formation and development, the paper further proposes the principles and the related strategies of carrying out the emotional education. The principles include care, respect, tolerance, personalization, life and activity. The strategies are demonstrated in detail around the following three aspects:teaching material, teaching methods and teaching evaluation. And not only that, the paper also puts forward some basic requirements on teachers’ quality in the end. To sum up, it is very urgent to apply emotional education in junior middle school ideological and moral teaching practice. The teachers must combine the concept of emotional education with the teaching practice to educate high-quality talents who meet the social development in the future, thus preferably realizing the teaching goals of junior middle school moral lesson.
