The independent college is considered as a pioneering work of development module for institutions of higher learning, which takes full advantage of available, increasingly expanding, new and highly eligible educational resources. As one indispensable part of college teaching staff, the independent college counselors play a very important role in college students’ road of growth. However, compared with other teaching staff in the college or counselors in other regular institutions of higher learning, the independent college counselors take much more pressure and duties. Moreover, their contributions are far beyond their gains. Thus, it is really urgent to strengthen the construction of independent college counselors by means of efficient and reasonable incentive mechanism. Although, some exploration, considered fragmented, that focusing on the improvement of incentive mechanism for independent college counselors has been carried out by independent college S, it has been proved a failure to meet up the development of the college at present. Thereupon, it is especially important to redesign a package of incentive mechanism for independent college S.The thesis consists of six chapters:the introduction of this dissertation, the definition for related concepts and theoretical interpretation, the characteristics of independent college counselors, an empirical study on the status quo of incentive mechanism for counselors in independent college S, the ideas, principles and measures of redesigning incentive mechanism for counselors in independent college S and the conclusion and the forecast of the issue.The fifth part of this thesis is the key chapter which is consisted of three parts:the ideas of the designing; the principles of the designing (namely the people-oriented principle, fair principle, the difference principle, systematic principle, the unity of the flexibility and stability principles, the maneuverability principle); and the incentive mechanism redesigning (namely compensation redesigning, career development redesigning, performance evaluation redesigning, training design, emotion redesigning and environment redesigning).To establish and perfect a set of independent college counselor’s incentive mechanism is not accomplished at one stroke. It needs the science the incentive theory as the guide, proper incentives as the starting point, modern human resources technology as a guarantee. S independent college counselor’s incentive mechanism construction is in the process of proving, we will seek.
