At present,a large number of national colleges and universities are paying more and more attention to the development of the fine arts. Fine arts in vocational and technical schools also gains a flourishing development and has good prospects. With the constant progress of the society and the rapid development of economy, society puts forward new requirements to the talent demand.Vocational colleges provide skilled talents for the society. The vocational education occupies half of the whole education career, and fine arts as art education is an important part of vocational education. The development of fine arts in vocational schools is of great significance, through investigating the present development situation of fine arts in vocational schools, promoting the better development of fine arts in vocational schools is an urgent problem that need to be solved. This paper introduces the development of the fine arts in the current situation and its development in vocational schools, and compares the current development situation of fine arts in Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology with that in Ningxia Vocational and Technical College, including its curriculum, the faculty, experiment and practice, cooperation with other colleges and so on. Through comparison, the author found the advantages and existing problems of professional development in Ningxia. According to the problems, the author puts forward a series of strategies, including the efforts of the government and relevant departments, the attention of the school, the enhancement of teachers’ability, the improvement of students’quality, and specialty Settings. Through case studies of fine arts in Ningxia Vocational and Technical College, the author found solutions to the problems occurred in the development of professional art, so as to promote the comprehensive development of fine arts in vocational schools. Those solutions also have practical significance of promoting the development of fine arts in Ningxia vocational schools, at the same time, provide some references for the better development of fine arts in vocational schools nationwide.
