With the development of education and the deepening study of pedagogy, it isthe inevitable trend to establish a universal category system. Education is theembodiment of education phenomenon. This study selected foreign education writingssince Comenius, in accordance with the principles of convenience samples, wedivided into three stages: embryonic stage, the traditional stage and the modern stage.Because the native category can’t meet the needs of this study, we proposed threecategories to be judged, they were natural category, human abstract category andcomprehensive category. Through the analysis of foreign education category and logicin the works, we found that although the natural category had a tendency to decrease,the human abstract category was increasing, the level of the human abstract categoryneed to be further improved. Therefore, based on theory of Professor Sun, andthrough actual analysing of the categories of the foreign education and valueanalysing on theory. This study proposed education writings should include fourcategory, they are "education activities","education tizhi","education mechanism"and "education concept". To be specific, this study included the following contents:The first chapter is introduction. It mainly introduced the research background,purpose and contents, besides, it includes literature review and the meaning of theresearch and the study methods adopted.The second chapter is the relevant theory analysis of categories in the foreigneducation works. The definition of education, writings, foreign education writings,category, the category in foreign education writings, natural category, human abstractcategory and comprehensive category.The third chapter is the categories and these analysis of foreign education worksin an embryonic stage. Firstly, we simplely studied the educational history in anembryonic stage. Then we selected writings from Comenius, Rock and Rousseau asthe representative education science for the stage, next the categories and these logicwere analysed.The fourth chapter is the categories and these analysis of foreign educationworks in the traditional education stage. Firstly, we simplely studied the educationalhistory in an traditional stage. Then we selected writings from Herbart and Spencer as the representative education science for the stage, next the categories and these logicwere analysed.The fifth chapter is the categories and these analysis of foreign education worksin the modern education stage. Firstly, we simplely studied the educational history ina modern stage. Then we selected writings from America, Soviet (Russia) and Japanas the representative education science for the stage, next the categories and theselogic were analysed.The sixth chapter is the reflections on the categories of foreign education works.Firstly, three types of category in foreign education writings were reflected, then thecategories and logic were analysed on actual and value. Finally, the categories ofeducation writing were constructed, it contained "education activities","educationtizhi","education mechanism" and "education concept".
