The power of MIT OpenCourserWare movement had generated a wide and deep influence on the world education system during the past13years since it launched in2001. The appearing of Khan Academy now gradually changed the fundamental education in United States, makes people rethink about teaching and learning model. In2012, the rising of MOOC in the United States, encouraged students all around the world to learn the world’s top courses from top universities. These education resources use to only be available for elites in the past time. But now more and more schools and colleges, students and teachers, companies and institutions are joining in this big thing. The purpose of this paper is to study how the MOOC appear and the development of online courses, then comparative analysis foreign and domestic online course platform in all aspects, and find the shortcomings and propose appropriate countermeasures to solve the problem. This paper studies from the following six parts.The first part starts from the dilemma China is facing in the high-speed developing of the online courses background. Make research meaning and purpose clarified.The second part describes the development stage of online courses. In a landmark event of the occurrence of the development process of the divide the development of online courses into three stage. Embryonic (E-learning) stage, open educational resources (OER) stage, Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC) stage.The third part describes the history, philosophy and platform characteristics of typical foreign online courses platform’Khan Academy’,’Coursera’,’edX’and domestic typical online course platform’Love Course’,’Netease open Courses’, CCNU’cloud integration’.The fourth part compares the difference between domestic and international platform in four dimensions, the online teaching model, teaching philosophy, teaching perspective and teaching methods. Get to the conclusion that modern online education should come to abandon the cumbersome of traditional education, and the teach process should be based in teachers and students perspective, the teaching methods should be based on pedagogy research, teaching and learning process should be personalized.The fifth part combined with the drawbacks of domestic educational situation propose four advises, they are changing teaching philosophy, creating good learning environments, building a flexible online course study and management model, deepen the teaching reform.the sixth part writes about that the world is fascinating about the bright future of online courses. But people should came down and reflect the inadequacies of online courses for future research.
