In this study, an analysis and discussion for the relationship between urban and rural primary school teachers in occupational stress, social support and job burnout were successfully processed among476current teachers of16urban and rural public elementary schools. The results are as follows:(1) The changes in the score between occupational stress of teacher and demography factors were found apparently various (e.g., class size, reasons of being teacher and re-select).(2) The changes in the score of between social support to teachers and demography factors were found apparently various(marriage, whether class, age, job title, seniority, teaching subjects, duties, when teachers and re-select the reason).(3) The changes in the score of between teacher burnout and demography factors were found apparently various (e.g., class size, duty, numbers of subjects to teach, average imcome, reasons of being teacher and re-select).(4)Significant difference was found in urban and rural primary school teachers’ occupational stress scores. Rural teachers have minimum pressure, while urban teachers maximum; Teachers in City and the urban-rural fringe have higher occupational stress than the rural teachers. Multiple comparison shows that there exists significant differences in part of dimensions of occupational stress (self-development, work load and career expectations) between the urban and rural primary school teachers(5)The difference of social support scores was not significant in urban and rural primary school teachers,but the difference in objective support dimension was remarkable.In the urban-rural fringe, teachers’objective support scores are higher than that of urban and rural teachers’scores. A very significant difference exists on the exploitation degree of support, that is, city teachers score lower than the teachers in the urban-rural fringe and rural areas.(6)As for the job burnout and its each dimension, the difference between the urban and rural primary school teachers reached significant level.On all points, teachers’ scores in cities and the urban-rural fringe are higher than that of rural teachers, that is,teachers’job burnout in the city and the urban-rural fringe is more serious than that of rural teachers’.(7)There is a significant correlation between job burnout and some variables such as occupational stress, social support,city and countryside.(8)The different dimensions of occupational stress,social support,city and countryside have prediction effect on urban and rural primary school teachers’ job burnout scores and its different dimensions.(9)The regulative effect of social support and occupational stress on the job burnout was not significant.(10)A11points of social support, occupational stress,city and countryside play partial intermediary role in job burnout scores.
