In1980s, Howard Earl Gardner, American developmental psychologist, proposed his theory of multiple intelligences, humans have several different ways of processing information and these ways are relatively independent of one another. Different from traditional theory while only focus on language and math, this theory considers everyone have8main abilities. The theory is challenge to traditional critique and will bring some ideas in our curriculum revolution.Based on the theory of multiple intelligences, I reconsidered education, teaching and students to improve teaching methods. While improving quality of music education, it’s very important to cultivate all-around development of talents.The article which based on the theory of multiple intelligences focused on the cultivation and development of students to help them find their own distinction and superiority. It can created dreamed education for students, brought everyone into musical activities to find their confidence. It’s significant to bring into full play students’ability and improve their ability to settle problems. It also can bring into full play their own superiority in musical practice, help them become significant in their first job. The article has four chapters:Chapter One:Introduction. It proposed background, theory and its practical values. It introduce the research in China and abroad, the method of the article, innovation and shortcoming.Chapter Two:Introduce to the theory of multiple intelligences, such as background of the theory and conception.Chapter Three:Focus on importance of the multiple intelligences theory in musical education, such as development of higher vocational school education, analysis of existing state, the relationship between the theory and musical education, finally analysis of musical education.Chapter Four:main chapter. It proposed practical measures in higher vocational school musical education which include eight educational methods.Chapter Five:It talked about the future of musical education based on the theory of multiple intelligences and multiple evaluation.Chapter Six:Summary of the whole article.
