As the masterpieces of classical literature, China’s four famous ancient novels enjoy richideological and cultural traditions and the value of teaching makes their excerpts become animportant part of reading. How to make those excerpts be more in line with the contents of thenew standard so that the teaching process can be more artistic becomes the focus of this article.Though analyzing the collected materials, the author has achieved a better understandingof the status quo as well as the problems of the reading and teaching of the contents of the fourfamous novels included in the high school textbooks. The situation is far from optimistic. In thiscircumstance, the author decided to discuss the contents and teaching strategies based on caseanalysis. This paper focuses on the teaching of the excerpts reading and is divided into threechapters: the first chapter explored the position of those excerpts in high school languageteaching and analyzed their teaching values. The second chapter proposed methods in terms ofhow to the teaching contents of the excerpts selected from the four famous novels. And the thirdchapter proposed corresponding reading teaching strategies based on the characteristics of theexcerpts of the four famous novels. |
