The curriculum standard of compulsory education advocates that students "read more books,read well,read good books and read the whole book" [Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.Chinese Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education [S].Beijing: Beijing Normal University Press,2012.] The new curriculum standard of high school also puts forward the learning task group of "whole book reading and discussion"."Read the whole book" has aroused more and more attention.But in the actual teaching,the whole book reading teaching situation is not optimistic,especially the long classic works.At the same time,there are some problems of one-sided teaching and wrong teaching.Due to the structural characteristics of "composing paragraphs" in Chinese classical long chapter novels,the excerpts of classical novels in textbooks are relatively independent,which can be composed independently,and can play their functions in the original works to stimulate students’ interest in reading the original works and enhance their ability to read the original works.Therefore,the core problem of this paper is: how to guide students to read the original novels on the basis of in-depth explanation of the excerpted texts in the teaching of classical novels.Among them,we need to focus on two aspects: one is the ideological and artistic teaching value of the excerpt as an independent work;The second is the function of the excerpted text in the reading teaching of the whole novel.From the perspective of reading the whole book,this paper studies the teaching of excerpted passages in classical novels,taking "Water Margin" and "Booty captured" as examples,in the hope of finding out the basic principles and teaching strategies for the efficient integration of the excerpted passages and the whole book.This paper uses questionnaire survey,interview method and case analysis method to understand the current situation of reading the whole book of junior middle school classical novels and teaching excerpts.Through the analysis of the present situation,two conclusions are drawn.One is the aspect of students,students study under great pressure,less time to read;Lack of long-term interest in reading classical novels;The limitations of reading methods;To the classical novel text in the original work of the relevant content is not enough.Second,teachers or schools,some teachers neglect the teaching of classical novel unit text;Classical novel text teaching is not closely related to the whole book;Classical novel text selection teaching and the whole book reading time mismatch;There are various methods to evaluate the reading effect of the whole book.On this basis,the paper sorts out the relevant theoretical basis of this study,including the narrative characteristics of the long-form chapter novels,Wang Rongsheng’s functional classification theory of textbook selection,and the theory of learning transfer.At the same time,the paper expounds the significance of the teaching of the middle school classical novel excerpts to the whole book reading teaching.Based on relevant theories,this paper takes "Booty captured" and "Water Margin" as examples to analyze the text of the teaching value of classical novels.Including the independent teaching value of "Booty captured" and the teaching value extended to reading "Water Margin".On the basis of the above research,this paper,based on the conclusions of the survey and the results of text analysis,puts forward the teaching strategies of excerpts from classical novels from the perspective of reading the whole book.Including the excerpted text and the original work both take into account,reasonable determination of teaching objectives;Play the introduction function of the excerpt;Give play to the example function of the excerpt;The whole book reading assistant excerpt text teaching and so on.Finally,the thesis combined with the proposed strategies to the whole book reading perspective of "Booty captured" text selection teaching design and test its teaching effect.
