A Study On The Classroom Teaching Skills Of Primary School English Student Teachers

With the continuous deepening of curriculum reform, English teaching has come to a new stage. Now the purpose of English learning is not only for communication but for more just as it is said in the<English curriculum standard>, English is teaching has to embody dual features of humanity and instrumentality, which give primary school English teachers more pressure. Teaching activities occur in the classroom, so research on teachers’ classroom teaching skills become more and more important. How to make teaching more effective, how to enhance teachers’ classroom teaching skills should be deeply thought by each teacher. This topic is based on the English curriculum reform deepening as the background, serving primary school student teachers majored on primary education, mainly through the literature, questionnaire surveys, classroom observation and other methods to improve the student teacher’s classroom teaching skills.The basic definition features and classification of classroom teaching skills were surveyed in the theory part. According to the teaching workflow and joining together the teaching process and the actual current situation of English teaching, the classroom teaching skills are divided into3major parts, which are teaching skills before the class, teaching skills on the class and teaching skills after the class. And the3major kinds are subdivided into15classroom teaching skills which were studied in the paper as the major part. Through the research, the writer found that there are some problems of the primary school English student teachers’ classroom teaching skills, and after research the reasons of the problems were found, and finally, some constructive suggestions are proposed.
