Taking biology in junior high school as the base point, local Xu Xiake culture as theprincipal line and inquiry-based learning as the main learning style, the study puts forwarda research subject of school-based curriculum development and teaching practice ofenvironmental education in junior high school under the background of Xu Xiake Culturebased on the distinctive school-based curriculum in junior high school. The study mainlyincludes curriculum environmental analysis, curriculum objective setting, curriculumcontent selection, specific curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation, etc. Theresearch subject is of great significance in highlighting local characteristic culture,cultivating affection for hometown, creating green schools and promoting studentindividual development. The research result proves that the teaching practice ofschool-based curriculum of environmental education in junior high school under thebackground of Xu Xiake culture exerts a far-reaching influence on students’ life, learning,and especially attitudes towards environmental protection and value orientation, playing asubstantial role in popularizing and inheriting local Xu Xiake Culture and providing thefirsthand information and experience for our school to develop school-based curriculum inthe future.
