This paper adapted Coleman’s Rational Choice Theory to research into the employment situation and job-choice behaviors of graduates, who majored in social work. Two main measures, which included literature analysis and depth interview, have been taken to learn and identify the job-choice process and multiple factors of study targets, and obtain findings around the actors themselves, resources control, action purpose and social norms.Based on the relatively professional study and understanding of employment and development of social work, the graduates tended to rationally determine their acton with the job of social work area by considerations of own situation and values, cost-benefits, career opportunities, authority relationships, social capital and norms.Through systematic analysis and discussion, regardless of taking, retaking or giving up the job opportunity of social work, the job-choice behaviors of study targets were significantly benefit-oriented and fit to social relationships and norms.
