Reading can not only collect information、know the world and develop the mind, but also is an important approach to get the aesthetic experience. Efficient reading is a method to efficiently receive and pick up available information. Including the speed of access to effective information and memory ability to understand information. Nowadays, efficient reading ability is an important ability to solve "information explosion". Schools have a great deal of responsibility, especially in upper primary period which is a golden time to develop students’ reading ability. Reading ability is the linear development, and is to cultivate students with stronger reading ability, we must encourage students to read widely. The number of pupils reading today is difficult to meet the requirements of the new curriculum standard. By reading the current situation from Xixia district the tenth primary school, the fifth grade, two classes, in Yinchuan, Ningxia province. We found the students’ reading situation is not optimistic.This paper is based on the new curriculum standard, using literature research, questionnaire, case study, action research method, etc. to analyze the actual situation of primary school Chinese reading teaching、offer efficient reading courses, put forward the practical feasible teaching strategies. Improving the students’ reading speed and memory, at the same time, helping students to develop good reading habits and promoting the students’ reading ability.
