In the Republic of China, great progress was made in education area. Many literature masters including Ye Shengtao and Xia Mianzun, who were also famous educators, represented the education of that time. Their educational movements and thoughts have had a profound impact on Chinese language education. At present, the reform of Chinese language education with diverse methods has got achievements, but rather many questions also emerge. Qian Liqun and Sun Shaozhen are the masters of Chinese language education, who have rich educational experience and theories. The Republic of China and the contemporary era are different historical times, which respectively has specific educational environment. However, the Chinese language education methods of the former have still been suitable for the current age. Therefore analyzing the similarities of the two times is significant to the Chinese language education.The essay includes four chapters. In chapter one, the basic Chinese language education viewpoints of the two times will be briefly introduced. The great contribution of Ye Shengtao, Xia Mianzun, Qian Liqun and Sun Shaozhen to Chinese language education will be illustrated from such aspects as education goals, teaching materials, the education reading, writing and oral communication. Chapter two will discuss the similarities and differences of their theories. Based on chapter one, five similarities and two differences will be presented. Chapter three will analyze the hotspot of contemporary Chinese language education and investigate the reality by means of combining their common views. Firstly, the situation of the discussion on real Chinese will be investigated. Secondly, it will research the present situation of the Chinese language education in middle school. Chapter four, based on the comparison between the theoretical views and practical investigation, it will clarify the common views that both have been implemented and are to be applied. In this way, some inspiration from these masters’ educational theories can be visualized in current Chinese language education.
