Under the impetus of the basic education curriculum reform, it has become an important task of "economic life" teaching to enhance students’ ability on how to learn and reflect on,analyze,solve economic problems which close to students’actual life,and on how to adapt to the demand of the epoch development and social practice.To make this task can be carried out, it is imperative to optimize the classroom teaching methods. Based on certain education purpose and teaching content, case teaching method guides learners into specific educational practice situations, then can let the students better master master the concepts, theories closely with teaching topic and also can improve students’ability to analysis and solve problem in the way of the interactive discussion between students and teachers. Therefore, the case teaching method is undoubtedly a kind of effective teaching modes and methods that not only can adapt to the needs of the basic curriculum reform but also conform to the objective requirement of the students’ own development. In combination with the characteristics of the textbook "economic life" and teaching experience, this paper discussed the use of case teaching method in the teaching of "economic life" from two aspects of theory and practice.This paper is divided into four parts:Part Ⅰ:The feasibility and necessity of the application of case teaching method in the "economic life" teaching. First, this paper discuss the necessity of the application of case teaching method in the "economic life" teaching, mainly from the angles of cultivating students’ability of linking theory with practice, paying attention to students’ autonomous learning and promoting students’lifelong development. Secondly, this paper illustrate the feasibility of case teaching method from the aspects of the practicality of teaching content, the textbook provides many cases and the teaching objectives of the book.Part Ⅱ:The theoretical construction of the application of case teaching method in the "economic life" teaching. This section discusses the general processes of expanding classroom teaching by using case teaching method in the "economic life":case selected, case analyze, comments summarized. Also, it discusses the specific practices of these three aspects in detail.Part Ⅲ:The instance analysis of the application of case teaching method in the "economic life" teaching. This section mainly present the two classes of using case teaching method in the teaching of "economic life " in detail.Part Ⅳ: The main problems about using case teaching method in the "economic life" teaching and the related improvement suggestions, this part summarizes the main problems about using case teaching method based on the interviews of the school’s teachers and own teaching experiences: the lake of specific cases, the lack of ability to control the classroom and the low levels of students’ participation. Furthermore, this part tries to raise the related improvement suggestions to solve these problems and has put forward four feasible operational suggestions:choose featured cases, guide and control class discussion skillfully, deal with the relationship between the lecturing method and the case teaching method reasonably, and guide the students to participate in the case teaching actively and effectively.
