Private kindergarten, especially in rural areas, account for a large proportion in that ofpre-school education. In January10,2013,“China Rural Education DevelopmentReport” published by the People’s Daily shows that more than90percent of China’s ruralkindergartens are owned privately. In a sense, the quality of rural private pre-school educationdirectly affects the quality of the entire pre-school education in rural areas. From an academicspeaking, there are many factors affect the quality of private pre-school education in ruralareas, such as infrastructure conditions, teacher quality, school management, in which anumber of factors, the most critical is the teacher,because teachers the core factor of theschool educationquality. However, private pre-school teachers in rural areas are facing manyproblems, of which survival status of private preschool teachers the concern problem in ruralareas.Therefore, taking Jinzhou pre-school teachers of the rural areas as a whole, this studyattempts to explore the survival status of rural pre-school teachers in Jinzhou with empiricalresearch methods, analyze problems and causes of its existence, and then made somesuggestions for its improvement.This paper conducted anonymous survey of185preschool teachers in11privatekindergartens in rural areas of Jinzhou with the methods of literature, interviews andquestionnaires. The survey mainly focuses on preschool teacher wages, work stress, workload,continuing education and professional development and other aspects. While questionnaireswere given out to teachers in four rural private kindergartens below the county level inJinzhou, in-depth interviews were also conducted on the principal and some teachers.Combined with relevant literature and theoretical studies, objectively and in-depth analysiswere conducted on the current problems of survival status of rural pre-school teachers inJinzhou.The study found that the main factors of the survival status of rural pre-school teachersare the unsatisfactory payoff, greater work pressure, low professional happiness of teachers, self-professional development depicturing from reality, imperfect management, and thegovernment and society pay less attention to early childhood education. Finally, this papermade some suggestions to improve local survival status for rural pre-school teachers. First,the kindergarten should be people-oriented, strengthening people-management. Second,pre-school teachers need to make efforts to continuously improve themselves for their owndevelopment. Third, parents should establish a correct concept of education and enhancecommunication with teachers. Fourth, the government should make great efforts to supportearly childhood education, seeking opportunities the survival status of rural pre-schoolteachers through increasing investment in education and the promotion of a balanceddistribution of educational resources.
