With the deepening of the new curriculum reform, the importance of extracurricularreading behavior, the extracurricular reading as an important part of language teaching, by theattention and recognition of education and social parties. Pupils extracurricular reading is thestarting point and basis for the teaching of reading, the new curriculum standards for students’extracurricular reading also put forward specific requirements, the importance ofextracurricular reading, forcing language education is important to pay attention to students’extracurricular reading. Primary education in rural areas to participate in the work of theauthor, found many students do not read in their spare time. School teacher just teach thetextbook knowledge, no extracurricular reading, not to mention the extracurricular readingguidance. There is a serious lack of status of rural primary school reading. Therefore, to solvethe lack of rural primary school reading has become an urgent need to solve the problem.The Full text is divided into five parts. The introduction mainly narrates the topic of thisstudy, the theoretical basis of the research of the existing research both at home and abroad,research methods and task; The first chapters summarizes the new curriculum standard and itssignificance to the requirement of Chinese extracurricular reading; the second chapter is thecountryside of Julu County of Hebei Province as an example of a rural primary school,extracurricular reading of students in grade three and four were investigated, and to analyzethe results of the survey data analysis and results; The third chapter is aimed at the conditionof the lake of rural primary school Chinese extracurricular reading, this paper expounds thesolution to the implementation of the lack of rural primary school students’ reading strategy,from the aspects of school leaders, teachers, students and parents put forward feasiblemeasures, the implementation of rural primary school Chinese extracurricular reading; Thelast is the conclusion, mainly summarizes the content of the thesis, and handed the papersdeficiency, expect to have more education workers involved in the study of rural primaryschool students’ reading.The research results of this paper is to show in thesis, because it is on the topic, so justoutside a part of reading teaching field, and extracurricular reading teaching broad andprofound, have to be in the future as more Chinese educators involved in extracurricular reading teaching which is a wide research field.
