Reading is the fastest and most effective way to acquire knowledge,exercise thinking and understand the world.Zhu Yongxin said that one person's mental development history is his reading history.If a person doesn't read,he will have reading poverty,which will lead to "mental hunger".For those who don't read after class,this mental hunger will be more obvious.Nowadays,both society,schools,parents and students are aware of the importance of extracurricular reading.However,in the vast rural areas,how does the extracurricular reading of primary school students develop?Based on learning transfer theory,constructivism theory and reading cycle theory,the author conducted a questionnaire survey on 450 students in three rural primary schools in S County,A Province,from the aspects of attitude,time and content of extracurricular reading;interviewed some teachers,parents and three headmasters;collected and collated relevant literature on extracurricular reading,and explored the countryside.Pupils' extracurricular reading problems,and targeted optimization strategies.This study is divided into five parts.The first chapter discusses the reasons and significance of topic selection of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading,research methods and related research at home and abroad.The second chapter defines the core concepts and elaborates the theoretical basis of pupils' extracurricular reading.The third chapter lists the survey data of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading in S County of A province,then summarizes the existing problems,and finally makes an analysis of the reasons.In the fourth chapter,according to the results of the survey,the author puts forward the optimization strategy of rural primary school students' extracurricular reading from four aspects: school,teacher,family and society.The fifth chapter hopes that the society will attach importance to the cooperation between home and school,andmake joint efforts to change the current situation of rural pupils' extracurricular reading.
