The period of secondary school is key to students for their physical and mentaldevelopment. During this period of time, the students’ cognition, comprehension andthinking ability are in constant development, and gradually get mature. Therefore, inthis stage the teacher, on the one hand, should pay attention to the teaching purpose,and on the other hand, stress student’s physical and mental development.Narrative mentioned in this thesis, is a combination of both narrative style as thepriority and other expression styles as complementary. The paper mainly introducedexperience of major characters and growing as well as changes of settings andbackgrounds in the context. Narrative is a common style. It runs through the entireteaching secondary school period.Learning narrative can make students broaden theirhorizon, be more insightful into the characters and matters in social life. It can get thehearts of middle school students purified, and get them have a clear sense of beautyand ugliness. Besides, they can get a good sense of outlook on life and value. Theopenness of Narrative can provide the students with abundant space to express theirown thoughts and feelings, and it encourages diverse understandings of the originaltext, thus helping cultivating students with innovative spirit.Narrative is rich in meaning. Therefore the interpretation of the original textshould correspondingly be multilevel and comprehensive. However, in recent years,there are two extremely different ways of interpretation; one is to neglect theunderlying meaning of the source text, while the other is to over-interpret the passage.This thesis is based on the new standard concept, combination with the PEP editioncompulsory education curriculum standard experiment textbook. To the understandingof the text, realistic should come first and then is the innovation. Neither excessiveanalysis, nor insignificant and irrelevant analysis should be carried out. We need toreflect on the present teaching situations and broaden our mindset so as to figure out afeasible and effective way to analyze the passage.This paper is divided into three chapters. The introduction section introduced the topic origin and explained the research status of Narrative Text Interpretation bySecondary School Chinese Teachers. It further points out the theoretic support of thisthesis writing. Chapter one gives an thorough analysis on the significance ofimproving the narrative articles comprehending ability of the Chinese languageteachers in secondary school. Besides, it defined related terms concerning the selectedtopic. Chapter two introduced drawbacks of reading text interpretation in three aspects,namely interpretation contrary to text meaning; interpretation derailed from subjectattributes; narrow-minded and superficial interpretation. Chapter three is the mostimportant part of this thesis. It, combing with cases, elaborated how to cultivateteachers with excellent text interpretation ability, including training teachers’ abilityby understanding the original meanings accurately, improving their abilities inprofessional quality, and fostering teachers’ capability in both extensively andintensively comprehending the articles. The major objective of the dissertation is topoint out problems living in text interpretation through well-targeted analysis ofpresent situation and further solve all the problems by scientific teaching theories.What’s more, it also aims to put extraordinary teaching theories into specific teachingactivities, so as to improve teacher’s interpretation ability and optimize the teachingeffects.
