It is easy to find that visual language as a communication tool has been used in long time. However, People gradually forget that visual language also is a communication tool because of the limitations of visual language. We always face the complicated visual information with the rapid development of society and media technology. So the phenomenon of used visual language rises up. The professor of Nan jing normal university, named Zhang Shu Yu, engaged in the study of visual culture in a long time. She said seeing is not a simple question. In the other word, seeing is a very complicated process. We need a kind of ability to truly understand Visual information, but most of us did not own it. Today, we were challenged because we didn’t accept the visual language skills training for a long time. So we must improve the recognition of the importance of visual literacy education.Through the theoretical research, the author firstly studies some research results at home and abroad, and combs some concept of "visual literacy" and "visual literacy education" which defined by various scholars, and then according to this study need define a connotation of them. Secondly the author had an understanding of visual literacy cultivation way. From the study of the literature, we can know that there are two main types for implementation of visual literacy education. One of that is a separate training course. The other one is that impinged the education of visual literacy in the integrated of the other course. In my opinion the second one is better for the current situation of our country. Thirdly the author also had an understanding of the way of integration for Visual literacy education and other curriculum. At the same time, and the author had a understanding of teaching law、target and requirements for elementary school mathematics teaching, etc. The entire job is done for making the preparation of implementation which will has carried out in the elementary school mathematics course. Finally learning from the existing materials, the author knew that foreign research results of visual literacy education also are more, but less attention to the visual literacy at home. Although foreign theoretical research and practical results are very rich, but it is not a easy thing to use these mature practice patterns in Chinese education system. We need to study a localization theories and practical experience for Chinese.In order to have a better implementation of visual literacy education in the elementary school mathematics curriculum teaching, the author has carried on the preliminary analysis of its implementation conditions and summarized the rationality of it.This study carried on a on the survey on some the elementary school mathematics teachers and junior students in Guang xi. The purpose of the survey is to understand the current situation of visual literacy education better. The section contains the content of the three aspects. One aspect is that the author has carried on the investigation about the capacity of visual literacy for elementary school mathematics teacher. From the results of the survey, the author knows that the elementary school mathematics teacher understand little knowledge of visual literacy and visual interpretation, judgment and expression ability of the teacher is weak. As the same of primary school students, the last aspect is about using of visual information which was used by the teacher in the elementary school mathematics class teaching. Some teacher think that they can’t make full use of visual resources for the teaching service because the limitation of methods. In a word we cannot have an attitude optimistic on visual literacy education present situation. The author based on the analysis of survey data, combined with the practical situation of primary school in our country, put forward several Suggestions to cultivate visual literacy of the teacher and students.Designing some teaching cases of visual literacy education in the elementary school mathematics course, the author base on the research for related theories and present situation investigation of visual literacy education and carried out these cases. There are some conclusions about it. The author found that implementation of visual literacy education in the elementary school mathematics curriculum is feasible. Because it greatly aroused the interest of students who prefer to use visual materials to express their idea. At the same time we can know some key factors for the implementation of visual literacy education, such as visual literacy of teachers, visual literacy education consciousness, and the rationality of the teaching design and selection of high quality visual resources. The teacher should realize that the written language need to constantly training, so do the visual language. So students should often were encouraged to visual expression and skilled master the skills of visual expression. Finally the problems existing in the solution were summarized and resolved.
