In this paper, through the questionnaire survey form, investigated from three aspects of Nanjing part school of junior middle school students use the present situation of the diagram text for geographic information capabilities:junior middle school students using the diagram text for geographic information awareness and interest in the chart content, both men and women the basic ways of junior high school students to read charts. Also covered in the questionnaire junior high school geography teachers in the classroom for students to use diagram text for geographic information ability cultivation of the status quo, including three aspects:junior high school geography teacher’s modern education technology application attitude, junior high school geography classroom teaching, classroom activities in the evaluation process. And through the data statistics, classroom observation and individual interview way to analysis the reason, draw the conclusion.In this article, through the form of literature research, draw the relevant note in the learning theory of information processing, Vygotsky’s theory of cognitive development in the recent development of the theory, constructivism learning theory, the essence of geography classroom teaching theory; On the basis of the research junior middle school students thinking activity characteristics, put forward building take the student as the main body of the classroom teaching strategy of cultivating students’ ability for geographic information.In this paper, combining the theory of education psychology and teaching practice, put forward in the new teaching, the teacher should try to stimulate interest, to explore the strategy of cooperation:draw attention, collaboration, communication and build understanding; To use preview on recitation case independent review strategy:activation before class, evaluate correction, combing inductive, challenge tests, thinking collisions; In the test paper, evaluation to mutual communication and cooperation on the correction strategy:mutual communication and guiding inspiration the lines.In this paper, teachers’ practice of the above strategy, want to consider the present way of organizing information, students had no intention of attention, so that the students find explicit information; Questions and the students are required to clarify information retrieval task of reading, the chart to require students to extract implicit information text materials remain voluntary attention. Teachers try to organize ability level between different students collaborative learning, learn to determine whether the recessive obtained their geographic information related to problems. At the same time, teachers should guide students to think and collaborative learning in the process of communication, discussion, construction of geographic information can be obtained accurately and fully understanding.Finally, the paper using new teaching "of China’s land resources","China’s geographical differences" recitation and examination paper evaluation three cases, as the geography class to cultivate students ability of geographic information demonstration.
