Automotive manufacturing is the pillar industry of Beijing. On one hand it makescontribution to GDP, on the other hand it also consume lots of energy and resources.Along with the process of urbanization and the improvement of people’s livingstandards, the demand of automobile will rise continuously. At the same time, required of energy in automotive manufacturing will increase by a large margin. Therefore, it is very important to make study on energy consumption of Beijingautomobile manufacturing enterprises for those enterprises to develop energy-savingplanning scheme. The year of2010is the base year in this study, overall automobile manufacturingenterprises in Beijing (including automobile complete manufacturing, modified motorvehicle manufacturing, trolley manufacturing, automobile body and trailermanufacturing, automobile parts and attachments manufacturing, automobilerepairing service) are the research object in this study. Curve estimation and actualanalysis were used to predict the production of Beijing vehicles. Based on theprediction of vehicles, simulation was carried out to estimate the energy consumptionof Beijing automobile manufacturing enterprise in three different levels of energyintensity in scenarios. Scenario one is the prediction of high energy intensity level, itis the prediction of energy consumption in Beijing automobile manufacturingenterprises. Scenario two is the prediction of medium energy intensity level, it predictthe energy consumption in Beijing automobile manufacturing enterprises by energyintensity of Wuhan automobile manufacturing enterprises. Scenario three is theprediction of low energy intensity level, it predict the energy consumption ofautomobile manufacturing enterprises in Beijing in condition of energy intensity fromToyota North America automobile factory. The results show that the energy consumption of automobile manufactureenterprises in Beijing in different scenarios is increasing year by year. The predictionof energy demand in scenario one is higher than the prediction results of scenario two,and the energy consumption prediction results in scenario two is higher than theprediction results of scenario three. When the energy intensity of Beijing automobilemanufacturer fall to the energy intensity level of Wuhan automobile manufacturer, theenergy consumption of Beijing automobile manufacturer will decrease22%in2020.When the energy intensity of Beijing automobile manufacturer down to the levelof Toyota motor north America, the energy consumption of Beijing automobilemanufacturer will decline46%in2020. If no actions were took to control the energydemand in Beijing automobile manufacturer in the future, the energy consumption of Beijing automobile manufacturer might be1550.3thousand tons of coal equivalentsin2020, rise86.47%compared with the energy consumption in2011.Based on annual environmental reports of Toyota’s North American automobilefactory in2011, this study summarizes the energy saving technology and managementmeasures. By interviewing of Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd., this studysummarizes the technologies and measures adopted by the company in energy savingand environmental protection, and those energy saving measures worth the otherautomobile manufacturing enterprise learning. In according to the energy-saving casesfrom the two companies, this study concludes the main factors that affecting theenergy-saving work of automobile manufacturer. Besides, the energy savingmechanism of automobile manufacturing enterprise was analyzed in this study. Finally, this study puts forward suggestions on how to improve the efficiency ofenergy use in automobile manufacturing enterprise.
