Research About Coordinated Development Of Economy And Environment In Yanji

Governments are attaching more and more importance to the environmental problem because of the aggravation of the environmental pollution, which caused by the economic development. The dialectical relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution has been already a hot spot issue for those who research about it both at home and abroad. Therefore how to have a favorable environment basing on chasing after affluent material and culture becomes the ultimate purpose for the government and researchers who are researching on coordinated development of economy and environment.In this study, an attempt was made to examine the problem between economic development and environmental protection in Yanji City, and point out, necessity of the coordinated development of economy and environment, thereby make recommendations based on the actual situation. The method used in our study is based on the theory of environmental economics and a lot of data charts. In addition, the way to combine the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, from aspects of the structure of the three industries to describe the overall economic trends in Yanji City, the data relating to nearly20years of economic development and environmental are all the basic methods of this paper. As the analysis objects, per capita GDP, industrial waste water, industrial waste gas, solid waste and vehicle exhaust are analyzed through the use of Kuznets curve. The data obtained suggest that the relationship between per capita GDP and other environmental indicators are in uncoordinated development stage except the relationship between per capita GDP and industrial wastewater. Therefore, Yanji City should increase investment in environmental governance, at the same time, developing appropriate policies, in order to make the Yanji City so as soon as possible enter into the coordinated development stage of economy and the environment.
