Agricultural Labor "Aging" Impact On Agricultural Production

The aging of the population is the inevitable result of human social andeconomic development. Whether developed countries or developing countries haveexperienced population aging stage. With the developed countries is different, theaging of the population in China, although late, but showed accelerated developmentand "not rich features first old". Our country has entered the aging society.Accompanied by the coming of rural population aging and the transfer of a largenumber of surplus rural labor force, agricultural labor force has shown "aging"phenomenon. Shaanxi province is located in the west of our country, the level ofeconomic development is relatively backward, a large amount of rural labor transfercharacteristics and agricultural labor "aging" typical characteristics. As a majoragricultural province, agricultural labor "aging" will have a tremendous impact onShaanxi province’s agricultural production and social economy. Through the researchof agricultural labor "aging" effect on agricultural production, it will enable us tounderstand the agricultural labor force "aging" problem better. And we can beprepared in advance to minimize the negative impact which the agricultural laborforce "aging" brings to the agricultural production.Specifically, the paper is divided into the following five parts:The first part, introduction. This part briefly introduces the background andsignificance, review of relevant literature at home and abroad, the research ideas andmethods and the innovation and deficiency.The second part, the basic concept and theory. This part briefly introduces thebasic theory of population aging and measure index, upper bound based ofagricultural labor "aging" as the research object, and sets its measure index.The third part, the current situation, causes and trend of the agriculture labor"aging".Using the questionnaire to collect data, combined with the index set, analysesthe present situation, reasons and development trend of survey area agricultural laborforce aging.The fourth part, an empirical analysis on the impact of agriculture labor "aging"on agricultural production. Firstly, using general statistical method to analyze thevarious influence which the agricultural labor force "aging" brings to the agricultural production.Secondly, establishing the Logit model to quantitatively analyze the effectsof agricultural labor force "aging" on agricultural production with the survey data of2010-2012years of Xiejiawan village agricultural production and agricultural labor"aging".The fifth part, the conclusion and the policy recommendations. Sum up theconclusion of the research and put forward the corresponding measures.
