A Study On Economy’s Sustainable Development Of Ethnic Areas In Gansu

The CPC and the Central Government have been paid more attention to the subject of economy’s sustainable development in ethnic areas. Especially in the reform and opening up and into the21st century, the socialist market economic system in the vast land of China takes root, germinates, the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics has made remarkable achievements in all aspects in the society. Due to the impact of their own conditions and historical issues, the economic development of ethnic areas has been lagging behind than the coastal and central region.The economic backwardness in the minority areas is an important issue related to the country’s economic development and social stability. And the issues also has related to national unity and regional coordinated development. Therefore, how to optimize the industrial structure of the ethnic areas, select the competitive industries and leading industries, promote industrial upgrading, and create new economic growth point, is the important issues which the economic development in minority areas has to face.Gansu is a multi-ethnic province. Jishishan Bonan-Dongxiang-Salar Autonomous County is the only multi-ethnic Autonomous County in Gansu Province and is the onlv nationwide Bonan settlements. The30th anniversarv of the construction of county. Jishishan people have made a scries of achievements. But in the process to building a well-off society, there has been some contradictions and difficulties.In this paper, the author takes the ethnic areas in Gansu-Jishishan Bonan-Dongxiang-Salar Autonomous County for an example, to analyze the economic development achievements of the multi-clhnic region and the problems such as:industrial structure, financial system, urbanization, features economic, ethnic and religious issues, try to explore solutions and provide some ideas and reference to the sustainable economic development in ethnic areas.
