Coal enterprises of China have the features of extensive operation, labor-intensive andheavy dependence on resources. Chinese Twelfth Five-Year Plan puts forward to building anew energy resources enterprise. Now coal enterprises face some questions, for examples,safe issues, increasing cost, resource constraints and so on. The enterprises have the urgentneed to enhance their core competitiveness. The theory of core competitiveness makes theenterprise to obtain sustainable competitive advantage by enhancing the value of theenterprise’s behaviors by fostering heterogeneous systematic ability. This article takesYunKuang Group as an example to evaluate this enterprise’s core competitiveness by using thetheory of core competence, so as to provide a reference for Chinese coal enterprises corecompetence improvement.This paper aims to explore the elements of core competitiveness of energy-basedenterprises just like YanKuang Group, in the current economic environment and future trends,by using survey interviews, method PEST, Porter’s five forces model and SWOT analysismethod and so on. With AHP analysis method, give the relevant factors different scores andthen arrange the seven core elements which the enterprise should focus on. These are strategicplannings (internationalization strategy, brand strategy, powerful combination and strongalliance strategy), technological innovation, team building, enterprise culture cultivation(courage to try, culture of responsibility, self-innovation), refined marketing, capital operationability and business-operating mode. Finally,according to the result of the series analysis,givesome constructive and practicable suggestions.The article is divided into the following several parts:The first chapter: introduction. The paper introduces the research background, researchsignificance, research object, research objectives and methods. According to the importanceand status of energy enterprise development to the development of national economy andproposes the evaluation, especially in view of China’s reality and Yanzhou mining practice,the paper explains the important significance to enhance the core competitiveness ofenterprises of Yanzhou mining itself, energy enterprise development and the development of the national economy.The second chapter: literature review. The source of learning and development of thetheory of core competence, the core competence of the connotation, classification and analysisof domestic and international core competitiveness theory research school and the main pointsof view, and refined to the core competence theory, core competitiveness of coal enterprises onthe domestic research present situation and the research literature on the core competitivenessof coal enterprises to carry out comprehensive assessment.The third chapter: the macro overview. Introduces the basic situation of the currentdevelopment of energy enterprises, using Potter’s five forces model to analyze the externalenvironment of energy enterprises, taking Yanzhou Mining Group as an example, theapplication of SWOT analysis method to analyze the internal and external environment of theenergy enterprises, will study the angle on the macro situation inside and outside of theindustry considered in the.The fourth chapter: empirical analysis, taking Yanzhou Mining Group as an example,through the questionnaire survey, empirical research. The results show that, technologicalcompetitiveness plays a leading role in the system of core competitiveness of coal enterprises,the weight is0.273; the importance of management competitiveness and marketcompetitiveness in the system are similar, weight were0.2535and0.2532, the growth abilityof the enterprise is an important part of the system capacity, the weight is0.2203.Theempirical results show that, the evaluation of the core competence of Yanzhou Mining Groupis strong, with strong core competitiveness of coal enterprises association degree of R is0.7324, the management competence of R10.716, R20.713technology competitiveness,market competitiveness of R3is0.697, the growth ability of the enterprise R40.816.Anempirical study on core competence of Yanzhou Mining Group as a case guidance coalenterprise application of core competitiveness evaluation system and evaluation model.Finally, based on the empirical results, the Yanzhou Mining Group should promoteresource operation ability of R15is0.333, investment in human resources R130.401,technical personnel of the total staff ratio of R24is0.333, R& D investment amount ofR25is0.421, the customer loyalty of R34is0.746, R35is0.649and the stability of the system,enterprise innovation ability of R450.417, to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises. According to the present situation of model and the study of the development of enterprises,strategies to enhance the core competitiveness of Chode Mi, effective, for reference, theadoption and use of coal enterprises.
