Regional Economic Development Difference Research In Sichuan Province

The difference in regional economic development is widely existed in countries’ economic development. China, as the largest developing country in the world, its regional economic development gaps have attached lots of attentions. As we know, China is a country with large population and weak economic basis, facing serious problems of rapidly economic increase and regional economic development gaps. A lot of scholars pay much more attention on the study of those differences between Eastern area, Middle area and Western area or gaps among provinces at the aspect of development of their regional economy. This situation leads to few studies on the internal of regional economic differences. Based on the perspective of regional equilibrium and disequilibrium, this paper is going to do a dynamic analysis on the difference in the development of regional economy in the21cities of Sichuan province, which is the biggest province in Southwestern China, from the aspect of empirical analysis, using factory analysis theory, taking three years from2008-2010as the time table of study.This paper includes seven sections:the first section is introduction which introduces the background of the topic, the research aims of this paper and the former academics. Then, it will introduce the structure of this paper, the research methodology and the data where it comes. The second section will make a conclusion of theoretical basis of regional economic development gaps and the meanings for this paper. The third section will introduce the indicator system and evaluation methodology of Sichuan regional economic development gas. The fourth section is data analysis, using the empirical analysis method to analyze the Sichuan regional economic development gaps. The fifth section is to study the elements which influence the differences in the development of regional economy in Sichuan province based on the results of research mentioned above. Sixth section will put forward some measures to reduce the gaps and promote the internal regional economic developing harmoniously in Sichuan Province. The last section is about conclusion and prospect. The study shows that the development of regional economy of Sichuan province is unbalanced, and the development of regional economy of Chengdu is the best, and the level of development of regional economy range from the highest to lowest are that of Southern Sichuan, Northeastern Sichuan, Pangxi and Northwestern Sichuan. Based on the result of the research, this paper profoundly studies the reason of the differences of the regional economy of Sichuan Province and put forward the policy and measure to reduce the difference of regional economy of Sichuan Province and to promote the harmonized development of Sichuan’s regional economy, from the following six aspects:natural environment factor, locational factor, historical factor, political factor, human resource factor, and investment factor.This paper empirically studies the differences in development of21cities in Sichuan Province and it is highly concerned with the fact of the development of regional economy in Sichuan. This paper is creative in the methods, content, and time table of study, but it also needs efforts in the index choice, data continuous of study.
