E-commerce as the inevitable product of the process of information, is to play an increasingly important role for the development and growth of enterprises and even the economic development of a country. The important role of SMEs in the development of our national economy is self-evident, the number of small and medium enterprises account for more than90%of the total number of enterprises in China, contributed more than55%of the gross domestic product (GDP). However, compared with large enterprises, lack of funds and poor ability to resist risks are SMEs’weaknesses, hindered its ongoing development and expansion. Most of all small and medium enterprises are facing tremendous pressure to survive.At the end of the20th century, along with the extensive application of the Internet, e-commerce triggered a new round of applications of information technology revolution. the e-commerce can greatly simplify the traditional trade flow, reduce production costs, and to promote the use of information technology to enhance their competitiveness, can greatly compensate for the small and medium-sized enterprises in technology and cost relative disadvantage for large enterprises. Unfortunately, the SMEs on the application of e-commerce concern, a considerable part of small and medium enterprises have not embarked on the road of the information construction, which will inevitably lead to this part of the small and medium enterprises in the fierce market competition to miss an opportunity.The fundamental reason is that the current overall situation of SMEs in China to carry out e-commerce unsatisfactory concerns, including a lack of understanding of the macro-environment, lack of knowledge of their own characteristics, as well as the characteristics of e-business models do not understand. Which, plagued by small and medium-sized enterprises of e-commerce has become a major factor in lack of knowledge for the e-commerce model. According to Porter’s value chain theory, on the kind of e-commerce model 10categories based on the value chain theory from the degree of innovation and the degree of functional integration, analysis, combined with the SWOT analysis summed up the third-party e-commerce model and ASP application mode regardless or applicability for SMEs both in the development prospects have an unparalleled advantage of other modes to draw these two modes are SMEs in China e-commerce can choose on the basis of analysis of the relevant case mode, and the application of these two modes should be the characteristics of SMEs linked Finally, how to choose the business model for SMEs, will be the focus of future research.
