As a rich tourism resources’ province, Shanxi is under average developing level with itstourism, comparing to other provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, especiallyinbound tourism, which is unsuited to its magnificent tourism resources. With the backgroundof supporting of inbound tourism by government, Shanxi Province presented tourism industryas one of the four main economic pillar industries by establishing a "National economictransformation Synthetically Reform Testing District". With the opportunity of transformation,Shanxi should enhance the development of tourism and strengthen current tourism resources,and lead Shanxi Province reclaim inbound tourism market, as well as domestic tourismmarket, in order to create a better developing space for the transformation.This article has been used tourism center, spatial interaction, and regional cooperation etal theories; to analysis Shanxi inbound tourism market, in order to promote the developmentof Shanxi tourism. Above all, this article summarizes the inbound tourism marketing researchhistory and current situation national wide and international wide. And then, it analyses themacro-background and advantage of Shanxi inbound tourism development, and presentscurrent problems, such as, the tourism industry chain has not been completed, transportationissues between scenic spots, lower international tourism services, and regional co-movementof inbound tourism, et al.By using geographical charts and other methodologies, this article analyses inboundtourists’ demographical characteristic through ages, sex, and professions. After that, thisarticle also approaches Chinese inbound tourists’ characteristic by spending. Furthermore, aGrey Forecasting Model has been used to forecast Shanxi Province’s inbound tourismstatistics in upcoming six years.Based on the analysis, the authors propose Shanxi inbound tourism’s market developmentstrategies; and raise a spatial net-work system" spot-axis" to detail Shanxi province’s tourismmarket. Meanwhile, this article presents a though of developing integration and specialtourism products, adjusting construction of tourism products, establishing an internationalservices’ system, as well as enhancing cooperation of inbound tourism and improving tourismindustry chain.
