At the end of the20th century, UK creative industries have achieved remarkable success both in economy and society and attracted worldwide attention. Since21st century, the cultural and creative industries whose the connotation and extension constantly enrich, become an emerging industries, and develop in every corner of the world with a rapid speed and scale; meanwhile, the new industries becomes the new driving force to promote social and economic sound development.Although the development of cultural and creative industries catch world’s continuous attention, at present, countries and regions have different definitions and classifications standard. At the same time, the lack of theory support, especially the relevant economic theory, so it is essential to analyze the concept of the cultural and creative industries firstly, and then to comb the current export trade literature, to analyze the suitable export trade theory and internationalization strategy. All of those points apply the theory support to export trade of Shanghai cultural and creative industries.On the basis of the theory, the paper will focus on the export trade practice of Shanghai cultural and creative industries. In the recent years, Shanghai has forward the "four centers" and "four chief tackles" overall targets, and "3-2-1" industrial structure adjustment and transformation, this three guides set a good macro political, economic and trade environment of the cultural and creative industries; meanwhile, the abundant cultural and creative resources also provide the internal support for its sustainable development; at the same time, under the guidance of the "culture go globally" strategy,"Shanghai international culture city" construction plan, Shanghai cultural and creative industries keep sustainable development and export trade surplus in successive years. Under those backgrounds, this paper has analyzed the basic situation, the current problems, and the positive factors of the Shanghai cultural and creative industries. Furthermore, the paper has discussed and summarized the experience of some developed countries, which have expand the cultural and creative overseas market successfully, to provide the enlightenment for Shanghai cultural and creative industries export trade practice.To integrate all the relevant export trade theory, development practice, international experience, the paper has reached a series of strategies and countermeasures, which would raise the export trade strength and achieves further internationalization of Shanghai cultural and creative industries. This industries should not only rely on the government to support in the aspects of law, policy, and industries guidance, but also depend on a market-oriental mechanism to establish corresponding talent training mode and service support platform; and also to cultivate key industries, leading enterprise, and famous brand so that would broadening the overseas market of Shanghai cultural and creative industries in international cooperation and exchange process.
