Study On Analysis And Countermeasures Of Key Equipments’ Procurement Risk In S Project Under EPCM Mode

Nowdays EPCM model is one of the main modes of project management, which is defined that the customer or owner signed management contract with EPCM contractor.and the EPCM contract is restricted to undertake the whole project risk management.The full name of EPCM Mode is Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management. At present, domestic enterprises are mostly lack of experience in EPCM mode.A sum of the past similar project management experience, enterprises are keen on the pursuit of duration compression and profit. While few managers practically analyze the potential risk in EPCM model until the risks come true.The procurement of key equipments under EPCM mode is crucial to the success of the project.The design scheme,new techniques and new technology are ultimately reflected in the key equipments. Therefore, a serious challenge for EPCM contractor is how to control and deal with the risks in EPCM mode.The author has many years experience in the field of project procurement..Based on the participation in a foreign engineering project, she studied EPCM mode theoretical research like the basic characteristics and implementation methods, and she further identified the key equipments’ procurement risk in EPCM mode and tried to find metheds by the qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.Firstly,the main study purpose is to apply the risk management theory to the practical risk control in EPCM mode.and then provide guidance for EPCM projects.Secondly, this study is expected to support the engineering and construction phase of the profit ability maximum.
