Service has become an important origin of enterprises’ competitive advantage,whereas most of the enterprises in China are still in the stage of production.Influenced by the current economic downturn in Europe and America and thecontinued rising cost of domestic production factors, the model of “high weight inindustry, less in service” will be difficult to sustain, improving the enterprises’competitiveness through service has become an important strategic choice for China’smanufacturing enterprises. Therefore, finding a way to gain the competitive advantagethrough servitization transition has become the key issue for theoretical circles andenterprises to solve.This essay synthesized service innovation theories and theories related to theservitization transition of manufacturing companies, selected the most representativeICT manufacturing enterprises which at forefront of servitization transition, usedmanufacturing enterprise’ servitization level of transition, the internal drive of serviceenhanment (Service technical capabilities, strategic orientation-market orientationand innovation orientation, organizational design, resource endowments) and externalactors (competitors, customers, suppliers, service agency) as starting points toexplore the manufacturing enterprises’ servitizations transition mechanism.On one hand, this research used the statistical software of SPSS19.0andanalyzed the influential factors which caused the improvement of manufacturingenterprise’ servitization level through systematic analysis of large sample data. On theother hand, it combined typical cases with large sample data and analyzed thesignificance level of the above influential factors during different stages. Conclusionwas drawn as follows:(1) In the process of manufacturing enterprise’ servitization transition, thefollowing factors play an important role-service skill level, market orientation,innovation orientation, organization structure, resource endowment, and intensity ofcompetitor relationship and that of customer relationship. (2) In the SSP phase of the servitization transition, market orientation,innovation orientation, organization structure and customer relationship intensity playa significant role. While in the phase of S&P, it is the service skill level, organizationstructure, resource endowment and competitor relationship, customer relationship andservice agency relationship that plays an important role. In SSC phase, marketorientation, service skill level and competitor relationship and customer relationshipare the key factors.The study had a further study on the influencing factors of manufacturingenterprise’ servitization transition, and perfected theories related to the mechanism ofmanufacturing enterprise’s servitization transition. Meanwhile, it providedsystematical theorical and methord guidance for manufacturing enterprises to carryout servitization transition.
