Production Team: The Rural Basic Units Of People’s Commune Period

Production team originated in rural economic organizations of Chinese agricultural cooperative period. With the movement of people’s commune carried out in rural,we have established organization system of "Political and social unity", and production teams as the rural basic units, which functioned as rural economical, political and social organizations until the commune system disintegrated. Choosing Beilaohao,a village located in Lishu county, Jilin province as an example, and production team as the object, this research did a thorough study of empirical materials in order to explain how the production teams ran and developed as rural basic units, that is, they owned the agriculture production materials and established rural economical organization on the basis of unified labor arrangement and distribution. Production team builds political organizations in rural areas on the basis of the cadres of production team and "Team Committee" performing administrative functions, adhering to democratic centralism and the principle, of command and obedience. Production team, as a rural social organization built up by the nation, organizes farmers and connects them to the nation, thus rural and farmers daily life are under control of the whole nation. At last, the paper illustrates the significance of the production team to the relations between the nation and farmers and the influence on nowadays rural development.
