Pushing forward urbanization is an important measure of narrowing the gapbetween urban and rural development in Chongqing. Promoting the centralizedresidence of farmers is an important means to promote the process of urbanization.And intensive land use, improve agricultural management level is the inherent powerof narrowing the gap between urban and rural. Intensive use of land and manageagriculture with modern industry concept are the inherent power of narrowing the gapbetween urban and rural. So it has important practical significance, to reveal theintrinsic link between farmers concentrated residential and rural land use.This study is based on the macro background of accelerating the urbanizationdevelopment process of Chongqing urban and rural development and in the fullawareness of farmers concentrated residential based on boost rural economy influence,combined with the special rural geographical conditions in Chongqing area. In thispaper, farmers concentrated residential and the situation of land use as the researchobject, Ba’nan and Nan’an District, Chongqing City, under the typical villages as theresearch area. Which aims to use the population migration theory, the theory of scaleeconomy and rural spatial structure evolution economics theory, to explore themechanism of effect of farmers’ concentration living land production efficiency,quality of the farmers themselves, farming radius, government finance investment andother aspects, revealing the centralized residence of farmers concentrated residentialareas of rural land use effects. Finally, aiming at the problems and possibilities exist toexplore relevant suggestions.The main conclusion of the study. Firstly, centralized residence of farmers willpromote the farmers production and technological progress and managementinnovation, and promote the intensive use of rural land. Secondly, unit of outputincreases and the organization form of diversification of agricultural production, willboost the intensive land use to further enhance. Thirdly, production radius increasedsignificantly after farmers concentrated, conducive to intensive use of land forachieving economies of scale. Finally, farmers concentrated will affect the financialinput to rural construction, promote the construction and agricultural productiontechnology to agricultural infrastructure.
